Invasion: Halo is a map/gametype pair that uses Halo Reach's Invasion gametype to simulate the famous encounter from Halo: Combat Evolved's second mission, Halo. It features asymmetric encounters where the SPARTAN team must fight from their crashed escape pod to a tower structure and successfully defend that tower against waves of enemy Covenant players until a Pelican dropship arrives to pick them up.
The gametype boasts several unique features - the use of a timed power up to create "boss" encounters with Gold Zealot Elites on the Covenant team, the creation of a structure/objective that SPARTANs spawn in and must successfully defend from the Covenant through clever application of respawn zones and objective placement, and the spawning of a recreated Pelican that the SPARTANs must escape to upon the beginning of the third phase of the round.

Invisioned as a sort of "best-of" for encounter design, this map/gametype pair makes use of Halo: Reach's Invasion gametype to pay tribute to three fan favorite encounter types: aerial insertion and beachhead capture, infantry vs vehicle combat and massive vehicle battles.
The first phase requires that the SPARTAN team uses Falcon troop transport helicopter in order to transport their team from their hangar to a beachhead held by player-controlled Covenant forces. After successfully capturing the beachhead, the SPARTANs are required to transport a bomb along the coast and up to a Covenant depot guarded by Covenant armor (Wraith tanks and Revenant assault vehicles). Once they detonate the bomb, the third phase begins and the SPARTANs must mount up in vehicles in order to assault a Tyrant-type Covenant anti-aircraft turret being guarded by more player-controlled vehicles.
The SPARTANs must enter the Tyrant and capture it in order to disable it, ending the round with a victory.
